Take a look at the drawing below.    It is almost the same as one you saw earlier.

But there is one big change.

Instead of the collector
heating the house, now
it heats the rocks in the box.

Fan Number 1 moves the air from
the collector to the Storage Box.

I have added another Fan
We'll call it Fan Number 2. It
moves heat from the STORAGE
BOX to the house. This way, we
take out only as much heat as
we need when we need it and
the house does not overheat,
even in the daytime.

"That's pretty good, Wizard, but isn't it a lot of work to keep it all going?"

Well, we have our COLLECTOR, a STORAGE BOX with
the ROCKS to MODERATE the TEMPERATURE, and
our two FANS to move the Solar Heated Air
through the system and into the HOUSE.

Now, since I am a lazy Wizard, I can think of one
more thing we need to make our system work by itself.

I will use THERMOSTATS and
TEMPERATURE SENSORS to tell how
hot the COLLECTOR, STORAGE BOX,
and the house is. The computer will use
them to measure the temperature and
know when to turn the FANS on or off !
